Hey comeon. These are fit, relatively young, men and it is only 2 days, 24 hours in a day. No mountains. Should be a doddle.

We're a team of 4 women cyclists with an average age 60 called Serpentine Golden Girls doing RAAM - 3000 miles in hopefully 8 days. Puts it in perspective.

I'm not a fan of alan shearer but if he gets through this bike ride I will see him in a different light. 335 miles is going to be very hard I don't think he will do it I did 150 miles in one day and I was dead the next day so can't see him getting to London.

But I wish you luck Alan.

[...] Back in January I revealed that Toon Superstar Alan Shearer and Match of the Day 2 frontman Adrian Chiles would be riding to London from Newcastle in two days. News of the charity ride has now gone official. Former England footy captain Alan Shearer and TV presenter Adrian Chiles will ride 335 miles in two days to raise funds for this year’s Sport Relief appeal. Sport Relief describes the ride as “gruelling.” On day one the duo will ride 186 miles: from the Newcastle football stadium to the West Brom stadium. “They can expect excruciating saddle sores*, severe back ache and cramps in muscles they never knew they had! And that’s just by the end of day one. All the experts have told Alan and Adrian that they’re crazy to even attempt such a challenge.” [...]
